General Contracting

When Gordon first started working in the trades a whole bathroom remodel could be done without a building permit. This meant anyone could be a “contractor”.
Those days have passed, with good reason and there are now specific rules and regulations that need to be followed in order to get the job done safely and effectively. Gordon has carried a home improvement license since 1986. But in 1999 Gordon returned to school and earned his Construction supervisor’s license. This license is unrestricted meaning GBS is able to handle commercial as well as large residential projects.

To this day his education continues. He recently became a NARI Certified Remodeler. This course required Gordon to be up to date with the ever changing laws and codes of the building industry. Recertification is required yearly in order to remain informed of the changing codes. To earn and retain this certificate you need to demonstrate your knowledge in business, finance, marketing and technical training.  In spring 2005 Gordon has also gained the education of Air Conditioning repair maintenance, as well as oil burner services. Gordon has attended many seminars and mastered many skills in the building industry most recently indoor air quality evaluating your home for the prescence of Carbon Monoxide.
